So you are in need of spare parts and you don't know where to get them at the lowest price? Then there might be some help below.

One fine day the 'Brake Lining' message appeared on the display. OK, I was expecting that, so it didn't come as a major surprise. Back home I used a flashlight both on the front and the rear wheels to see which pads was worn the most. Well, all of them, of course! Nothing to do but buy new pad for both front and rear, plus a new pair of wear sensors.
In Denmark, spare parts are extremely expensive (like everything else), but I decided to check the web anyway. The Only Danish site I found having brake parts, didn't have the 7's parts online, but checking the E34 prices (apparently they use the same brake pads) was quite a shock - $80 for the front pair alone! This gave me reason to expect a total of something close to $200, which I find is way too much, so I gave up the idea of shopping locally and checked for European net sites instead. Only two came up, one of them never bothered to answer my email, the other took a week or so. Never mind. They don't want my business, I'll go elsewhere.
Below is a list of the net sites I mailed and the price quotes they came up with. This may not be a totally fair comparison, since the quality is bound to differ (not original parts), but anyway...

FindMyCarParts came up with a 1-800 number.
Busse Und Stiebel in Germany never bothered to reply.
